We stopped here for brunch last Sunday. We had a burger and a grilled chicken salad. We had hoped for breakfast but they did open at 11 which, for us, is lunch time. Price-wise, they were reasonable. Quality/taste and portions were good and matched the pricing. We were the first in the restaurant, two other tables joined. Usually when a restaurant is slow, servers tend to not pay as much attention to their tables and leave them hanging, this was not the case. The server was always in the dining room with us while a male expedited the food. We never went without on our beverages and she checked in numerous times on how we were doing. A quaint little restaurant that displays the history of Rock Hill/Old Towne. We were happy with the service and food, we would dine here again.

Finding a GOOD restaurant with breakfast is so hard in this area. Today a friend and I tried this place. I ordered the Belgium waffle with eggs and bacon. I would bet money that the bacon was microwaved (even though the server said it wasn't) and my friend ordered the veggie omelette. Her omelette covered not even 1/4 of a standard plate. No garnish....just an omelette that was no bigger than my fist and it was made with american cheese. I was so embarrassed that I profusely apologized and made a point that we will NEVER dine at Hampton Street Restaurant again. I don't recommend this place for breakfast, and I guarantee won't write a review for lunch or dinner because there is no way I will return. I guess I will continue looking for a good restaurant with breakfast in the Rock Hill area.

Went for lunch today with co-workers. I'm not really sure if I just hit it on an off day but I was completely unimpressed with the entire experience. The menu is nicely done and offers many options which "look" tempting. I went with a regular burger which was completely tasteless. The patty was unseasoned and bland. The bun was toasted, but served cold and broke apart very easily which caused me to bring out a fork and knife to finish the sandwich. I added caramelized onions to the burger and they also had no taste. There were a few other tables seated during lunchtime and we waited a long time for our food indicating that the kitchen can only handle one table at a time, which may be the reason my plate was cold. Service was meh and unorganized all leading up to an experience that would make me choose somewhere else for lunch. Sorry Hampton Street, you just didn't do it for me today.

The previous reviews must have been written soon after the restaurant opened because the food and service are great. I took a party of eight to lunch. Obviously, this meant a wide array of items were selected from the menu. Everyone raved about their choice. Our server was most attentive and pleasant. My group also really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend calling for reservations if you plan on going on a Friday or Saturday night. With the surge in popularity, people without reservations are now having to be turned away. Hampton Street Cafe is a definite winner and a great dining addition o the area.

Disappointed. I had the brioche burger with goat cheese and caramelized onion. Ordered it medium and got well done. Tasteless and burned cardboard-like. Service was unorganized seating us and taking our order. Plates took quite a while to come out. I was there last Friday for lunch and was hopeful because it wasn't crowded. Also, they didn't accept my AmEx. :-(

I had a fantastic experience at Hampton Street Cafe last week. I have always frequented for lunch, as I am employed close by, but upon hearing of their new dinner menu, I made the short trip back downtown. The pub chips with old bay and malt vinegar were a great start! I went with Shrimp and Grits for dinner..they are to DIE for Honestly, the best around by a long shot. Check them out!
